Confidence is such a powerful thing in the life of an individual. For most of us our level of confidence grows as we emerge from the brokenness of our lives into the wholeness that comes to us through God’s plan of redemption ... the process of sanctification ... healing and deliverance that is so necessary for us all.
Hebrews 10:35 – “do not cast away your confidence which has great reward ...”
Confidence is critical … not confidence in ‘self’ … but confidence in God and in who we are in God … confidence to be all we can be and do all we are called to do.
Confidence itself enables us to access the ‘reward’ … lose confidence and lose your reward!! Do not throw it away … don’t allow it to be eroded.
Confidence according to Strong’s means “Free (deep inner sense of being free from every restriction) and fearless, cheerful courage, boldness, assurance … the deportment by which one becomes conspicuous or secures publicity.”
Or as Isaiah 60:1 says, “Arise, Shine for …” the word ‘arise’ means to “Stand up. Become powerful. Come on the scene.”
Let me encourage you to meditate upon these Scriptures and the meanings of those words and remind yourself, this is not talking about ‘arrogance’ or ‘pride’, but Biblical confidence ... standing up in all you are in God as you move into your future ... “become powerful ... come on the scene” ... carry yourself in such a way that you “become conspicuous”!
As we continue our discussion on the identifiable differences of thinking between those who are highly successful and those who are less successful, think about this ...
Which end of this spectrum are you closest to with your current mindsets?
1 Samuel 17:48 “David hurried and ran toward .. Goliath” ... now, THAT’S confidence!
Until next time ...
